Colonising The Moon Is Achievable In Our Lifetime According To This Video

I mean who doesn’t want to live on the moon?

According to NASA, the project would take around 10 years, and cost a measly $20-40 billion.

The moon has captured our attention and fascination since the first ever moon landing in 1969, and ever since people have speculated as to whether one day we really could live on the moon. Well, good news, this video says we could do it now.

Watch the full video here:

According to the video, which by the way is really interesting, we already have the technology to begin colonising the moon, and that a lack of government interest is the only real thing stopping us.

This ‘lunar colonisation’ would take place in three phases:

  1. Funding expeditions to the moon
  2. Making settlements on the moon, and beginning to extract the moon’s natural resources to send back home.
  3. Sending laborers and tradesman to live on the moon to work and send resources back home, making the moon profitable.

Resources on the moon include gold, titanium and platinum.

Maybe the lack of other human beings might make the colonisation process a little less violent this time?

This video comes at a time when the first ever private passenger flight to the moon, a project pioneered by SpaceX, is due to take place in 2023.

Earlier this week Elon Musk, founder and CEO of SpaceX, announced that Japanese billionaire Yusaka Maezawa will be the first passenger aboard the Big Falcon Rocket (BFR). Lucky duck.

The aim of the project is to eventually allow for ‘lunar tourism’, where up to 100 passengers can board the rocket at a time, to travel to and from the moon,

Don’t get me wrong, this is all really cool and honestly I’d sell my soul to go to space, but I can’t help thinking that we should maybe try and sort our own planet out before we go and start wreaking havoc on the moon, because really, our track record with natural resources isn’t fantastic is it?

Speaking of looking after our planet, take a look at these 5 ways to become more environmentally friendly.
