We all feel uncertain about our futures, and when we’re young have no idea where we may end up. I think it’s safe to say you wouldn’t assume your fame and fortune would come from being tall and always wearing a mask.

Doug Jones is mainly famous for his role in films such as: Hellboy, Batman Returns (1992), Fantastic Four, and many many others. All of these films have quite a few things in common, most notably the fantasy/horror genre. Additionally, all of the films have a general plot which includes a hero and a villain.

Another thing many of Jones’s films have in common is the fact that he is always wearing a mask, and his height is of extreme significance. Jones frequently takes on the role of the ‘villain’. He has played as all sorts of bizarre, horrific creatures and villains from the Amphibian Man in The Shape of Water (2017)  to Saru in Star Trek.

Doug Jones and his elusive roles are encapsulated pretty well by this video, where Dough himself goes over the various role he’s had and offers some insight as to how he got into the acting field.
