]This footage of supercell thunderstorms really highlights the beauty of nature.

A supercell is a storm that has a deep, persistently rotating updraft. Whilst these types of thunderstorms are the least common, they are also the most dangerous. Hail the size of tennis balls, strong winds and tornadoes usually accompany this natural destruction.

Chad Cowen, drawn to the beauty of supercell storms, wanted to capture them in a unique way. Cowen travelled more than 100,000 miles to collect the perfect images. The aim was to have maximum resolution to feel a part of the display.

America’s Great Plains are the majestic backdrop for this project. The beautiful scenery is home to supercells every spring and the following video truly is mesmerising!
